From Earth to Art – a must see instrument exhibit in the SGV
Unplug your phones and televisions and go see this exhibit, it will not disappoint you! Its takes place right here in the San Gabriel Valley! It’s a magnificent tribute to local artisans and Luthiers who make hand crafted music instruments of the finest quality.
The exhibit will display both traditional and non-traditional instruments like guitars, drums, cajons and stringed instruments as well as one of kind sound sculptures. Several artisans will demonstrate their skills, show their individual styles, and share their knowledge and passion for sound. You’ll get a chance to see the work of famed cajon builder Michael Kotzen ( www.tonecajon.com ). He table cajons and custom carved legs cajons are world renown, just ask cajon owners Mick Fleetwood or Pete Escovedo. Other instrument builders like Henry Barnes, Kristen Erikson, Frank Falbo, and Martin Maudal will display their amazing work.
The Exhibit also includes local artists from the American Museum of Ceramic Art. Together they have added a special feature for this exhibit. Well known artist Angel Once will paint a 6 foot Custom Cajon built by Michael Kotzen. In addition, there will be a Full Moon Drum Circle led by Jason LaMotte to kick off the exhibition.

The dA center for the arts is a non-profits organization who supports education of music, art, and literature to the underserved community of Pomona and its surroundings. SGVmusic is collaborating with the dA center to bring more music events and programs to serve them.

Britians Finest with Rio Hondo Symphony Conductor Kimo Furumoto in center
The Rio Hondo Symphony is one of the oldest and most successful community orchestras in all of Southern California. Britain's Finest, Chris Carter and Others to join the Rio Hondo Symphony for their Annual Fundraiser and Beatles Party
The Pops Concert fundraiser will be held at the Vic Lopez Auditorium at Whittier High School, 12417 E. Philadelphia, Whittier, CA 90601. The Symphony will perform with the Beatles Tribute Band, Britain's Finest, and with special guest Shenkar, Chris Carter of Breakfast with the Beatles 95.5 KLOS will host. Various Beatles book authors and lots of memorabilia will be displayed. Live artists, food trucks and a beer garden will also be part of the fun.
